Microsoft Arrives in Abu Dhabi to Boost YAS HEAT’s Virtual Racing Presennce

Abu Dhabi-based esports outfit YAS HEAT ESPORTS has revealed a new partnership with Microsoft, with the tech giant helping YAS HEAT to deliver an array of technologies allowing for the digitalization of virtual racing in the region.

Securing the services of Microsoft, YAS HEAT hopes to bring innovation and spur progress to the next generation of virtual racing talent, allowing the team to scale its own presence in esports, but also scale up the popularity of the virtual racing genre within the competitive video gaming ecosystem.

From the eNASCAR Series to Formula 1 Esports Series, the world of motorsports is embracing the arrival of esports, with mainstream broadcasting companies falling in line. Commenting on the latest tie-up with YAS HEAT, Microsoft UAE Public Sector Director Leila Serhan commended the long way that esports has come, shaping the ecosystem into a billion-dollar industry with unbridled growth potential.

This comes at a time when interest in the immersive virtual sport has been peaking all throughout the region and the United Arab Emirates, Serhan confirmed. Newly-discovered talent in UAE has already made its mark globally, and Microsoft is interested in empowering the further development of this competitive structure.

In fact, the company will deploy its Intelligent Cloud technology to boost the virtual gaming experience and allow fans to enjoy improved performance, speed and flexibility, allowing everyone involved to achieve more.

Bringing Professional Motorsports and Esports Together

YAS HEAT and Microsoft will gear their partnership towards the UAE and the esports audiences, benefiting from a burgeoning esports market. The partnership will bring together renowned esports drive to the Yas Marina Circuit, where the team’s headquarters are.

Thanks to Microsoft Intelligent Cloud, YAS HEAT will be able to work towards speeding up the digitalization of motorsports in the country and attracting new drivers. Microsoft signage will appear on YAS HEAT’s kit and car liveries.

The esports motor racing segment is experiencing a revolution, with multiple competitions running and YAS HEAT taking part in iRacing, V10 R-League, and other worthwhile competitions designed to boost the company’s exposure and esports as a whole.

Microsoft has recently announced the acquisition of Smash.gg, an esports platform that hosts online tournaments for a number of established competitions, including Call of Duty and Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Smash.gg assured that the acquisition by Microsoft was a positive change for the platform and its community, with esports tournaments going on as planned under the guidance of Microsoft Content Services team.
