WynnBET has appointed Ian Williams, an iGaming veteran with over 20 years of experience under his belt, as the company’s new chief operating officer (COO). Williams will be responsible for WynnBET’s extensive operations across numerous verticals as well as the brand’s trading, marketing, payments, customer service, and data science teams, and he will report to Wynn Interactive CEO Craig Billings.
Focused on Interactive Growth, Wynn Counts on the Best
Wynn Interactive is Wynn’s interactive division set up in a bid to take on the rapidly expanding US iGaming and sports betting verticals. Williams has served as president for online gaming at Churchill Downs Inc. and contributed for over five years to the development of the company’s interactive division.
Under his management, Churchill Downs Interactive was the most profitable online wagering business through Twinspires.com and Betamerica.com in the country. He managed to beat year-over-year records during his tenure and paved the way for Churchill Downs to later dive into real money sports and iGaming well ahead of the mass legalization push that occurred in 2018. He has contributed to market access in nine states that have embraced sports gambling or iGaming since then.
The executive’s extensive and proven track record will help WynnBET to continue growing its own footprint. WynnBET already has a significant standing across the United States, with more market activation deals down the pipeline. The brand is available in Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Virginia as of the time of writing.
WynnBET is also an authorized sportsbook operator for the National Football League and an authorized gaming operator for the NBA, MLB, and NASCAR. It’s also a marketing partner for a number of big sports franchises across the NFL, NBA, and MLB.
