Every poker fan has heard of the Wynn Millions tournament. However, this year, considering that the WSOP Main even was pushed out to the autumn, Wynn is making sure to steal the thunder this summer. Upon initially announcing that the $10,000 buy-in tournament will feature $10 million guaranteed, the operator was aware that it needed at least 1,000 players signing up to make something on top.
After the event started last Friday at Wynn Las Vegas, the prize pool no longer worries the operator, considering that 1,328 players joined this inaugural Wynn Millions event. Those entries generated a prize pool of $12,483,200.
Poker Pros Could Not Resist Joining Wynn Millions
Starting from June 25, Wynn Millions will run through July 3. Each player participating starts with 40,000 in chips, while single re-entry is permitted for each of the players. Wynn Millions is a part of the Wynn Summer Classic, featuring more than 30 events starting from May 27 through July 13.
Besides regular poker players aiming at big prizes, the tournament brought together many famous poker pros. Alex Foxen, defending Poker Player of the Year, as well as Tony Dunst and Cliff Josephy joined the tournament last week.
Furthermore, 2020 WSOP Main Event winner Damian Salas, three-time WSOP bracelet winner Kristen Bicknell and 2017 WSOP bracelet winner Chris Moorman joined the Wynn Millions tournament, as well. Some $25,091 prize will be received by the very bottom player that finishes 134th. However, the top 5 players are in for big prizes. The player that takes 5th place will go home with $456,629, while the 4th player is going to take home a $619,160 prize. The player that finishes 3rd is in for an $871,314 prize, while the second player will take a $1,248,886 prize. The lucky winner of the Wynn Millions tournament is going home with the $2,018,866 grand prize.
