Where and When is the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational

  • Date: Thursday, August 5
  • Time: 8:10 am CT
  • Place: TPC Southwind

Why Koepka Is Favored to Win WGC-FedEx St. Jude

In case you are wondering why the odds give a slight edge to Koepka, there is a fairly good reason for that. He managed to place first in the 2019 event and then ended up second in 2020. This is arguably one of the most consistent results at TPC Southwind, and it bodes well for the golfer and his chances of success.

His track record in the PGA Tour has been good as well, and he has placed anything from 2nd to 6th in the last ten events. There were a few missed cuts as the Genesis Invitational really didn’t go his way, but Koepka has shown the consistency that gives him an edge.

The question is if it makes sense to bet on him given that he’s only (+1200), according to oddsmakers. Morikawa and Schauffele come as close seconds, priced at (+1400).

Who Else To Look Out For

Every event brings a lot of challenges for the title, and often pinpointing the winner in golf proves a difficult task. However, we have some reason to believe that there may be successful layers in the upcoming WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational.

For one, there is Joaquin Niemann, priced at (+5500), who managed to finish in the top 10 during the Olympics. He has also been a runner-up twice this season, but his overall consistency is just not there to give him a better shot at winning. At least that’s what the oddsmakers think.

However, you may be able to use this knowledge to your benefit and see if you can’t place a bet on Niemann. Meanwhile, Patrick Reed is placed at (+3300), and while he has also seen some difficulties in most recent tournaments, he is still a member of the world elite and a very strong contender for the first place.

There are other dark horses to consider, including Bryson DeChambeau, who is recovering from COVID-19. He still has a (+2500) chance of succeeding.
