UFC Joins AGA Responsible Betting Initiative

The UFC has joined the “Have a Game Plan. Bet Responsibly.” initiative, the AGA’s public service campaign to promote responsible betting practices.

Have A Game Plan. Bet Responsibly.”

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is the newest partner of the American Gaming Association’s (AGA) “Have A Game Plan. Bet Responsibly.” initiative to encourage responsible sports betting. The mixed martial arts organization will promote safer wagering practices at its own venue, in addition to advertising co-branded UFC-themed content on its social platforms and broadcast channels.

UFC President Dana White said that the organization has the most fervent fanbase of any sport. With many fans betting on UFC games, it is important to encourage safer gambling, White said. The UFC is proud to partner with the AGA and to support this initiative to inspire its fans to make responsible betting decisions, she added.

In 2019, the AGA launched the “Have A Game Plan” campaign, focusing on the core concepts of safe sports betting, such as creating a budget plan, keeping wagering social, understanding the odds, and betting with reliable, regulatedlicensed operators.

Pro Sports Leagues Promote Responsible Wagering

Other backers of the public service campaign include Nascar, the National Hockey League (NHL), and PGA Tour, the governing body for men’s professional golf in the United States and North America.

As sports wagering grows in the US, professional sports leagues understand the need to inform sports enthusiasts and guarantee they are betting responsibly, according to Bill Miller, president and chief executive officer of the AGA.

“We’re thankful to see this campaign grow as progressive leagues like UFC lend their considerable voice to this important effort. UFC’s commitment is important to engage, educate and encourage their fans – some of whom may be placing bets for the first time – to wager responsibly.”

Bill Miller, AGA President and CEO

Last month, FanDuel Group became the first mobile sportsbook operator to join the AGA’s responsible betting campaign. The sports betting firm is dedicating a multimillion dollar chunk of its media capital, along with league and team money, to responsible gaming outreach. In addition, FanDuel will collaborate with its league, team, and media collaborators to expand the initiative’s reach through TV, radio, internet, and in-venue media. The AGA and the operator intend to launch responsible betting content in May 2021.
