Tropicana Evansville Casino Opens 24/7 on Friday July 2

Tropicana Evansville will remain open for 24 hours a day, seven days a week, as of Friday, July 2, with all of its slot and table games available.

Tropicana Evansville Will Operate 24/7

After a year of adjusted hours due to the pandemic, Tropicana Evansville Casino will resume casino operations 24/7 on Friday, July 2. Tropicana Evansville Casino will open all of its table games and slots open. The casino features over 1,100 slot games, over 30 live and electronic table games, and a High Limit Room. Players will also be able to smoke, drink and eat on the floor. The casino plans on resuming all operations and offer its full services around the clock.

Tropicana Evansville’s senior VP and GM, John Chaszar, said that the team is excited and appreciative to operate non-stop once again. He stated that although the casino would be fully operational again, the health of the staff and guests will remain a priority. Chaszar said that masks would be optional for fully vaccinated but recommended to everyone who is not fully vaccinated. He added, “We have been working very hard over the past year to keep everyone safe, and we will continue to provide the outstanding service and experiences Tropicana Evansville is known for.”

GLPI and Twin River Acquired Tropicana Evansville in 2020

In 2020, Caesars Entertainment sold Tropicana Evansville casino in Indiana to Gaming and Leisure Properties (GLPI), a real estate investment trust, and Twin River Worldwide Holdings, a gaming company, for $480 million. Twin River bought the casino operations for $140 million, and GLPI purchased Caesars’ facilities and real estate for $340 million, leasing them to Twin River for $28 million a year.

With this deal, Twin River acquired the rights to Tropicana’s iGaming skins and sports betting. Tropicana Evansville is Twin River’s fourth casino purchase in 2020. With this acquisition, the company operates 15 casinos.

Tropicana Evansville Could Get Re-Branded

Tropicana Evansville casino could be re-branded to Bally’s Evansville in the next few months after its new ownership is finalized this month. Last October, the buyer also acquired from Caesars Entertainment the name Bally’s.

Chaszar said that Bally’s officials have said that most of their holdings will carry that name, but it is not clear yet when the name might change. He also said that the new ownership transfer would not affect jobs at Tropicana Evansville, and there are multiple job positions currently open.
