The Venetian in Las Vegas will see the return of the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) earlier next month providing the stage for the MSPT’s $500,000 guaranteed Main Event.
Six-Figure Payday and a Trophy
The deep stack no limit hold’ em poker tournament series will commence at the Venetian on the Las Vegas Strip on September 3 with Day 1a and will continue on the next day with Day 1b, allowing the best players to reach the final day of action on September 5 and determine the winner of the lion’s share of a half-a-million guaranteed prize pool.
The MSPT weekend poker tournament series began back in 2009 at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minnesota, as the Minnesota State Poker Tour, and eighteen months later expanded into Iowa while the series was rebranded to Mid-States Poker Tour.
The MSPT comprises seven scheduled Main Events nationwide, including the one on the Las Vegas Strip. This year’s series began August 19-21 at the Grand Falls Casino in South Dakota with the $200,000 guaranteed tournament before making the trip to The Venetian.
After the weekend at The Venetian, the poker series will head to California where the United States Poker Championship at Sycuan Casino in San Diego will take place September 15-25, featuring a total of $570,000 in guaranteed prize money.
The fourth stop of the MSPT will be the Firekeepers Casino in Battle Creek, Michigan, October 13-16, for the $1 million guaranteed Michigan State Poker Championship, while the remaining schedule includes stops at Silverado Casino in Deadwood, South Dakota, October 21-23, Riverside Casino in Riverside, Iowa, October 27-30, and Running Aces Casino in Columbus, Minnesota, December 1-11.
The Venetian as a Premium Poker Destination
The $1,000 buy-in Main Event of the MSPT brought Argentina’s Federico Roberto $294,327 the last time the event took place at the Venetian during the 2022 World Series of Poker. Roberto scooped the quarter-million prize after beating a field of 2,154 players. The winner of the MSPT Main Event this September will take home a six-figure payday, on top of an MSPT trophy.
Besides the MSPT Main Event, The Venetian will feature numerous other deep stack tournaments and will award $3.8 million in guaranteed money between August 29 and October 2 under the DeepStack Extravaganza III series.
