Why Is There a Game 7?
Spurs took an early lead into the series, claiming 2 out of the first three games, but San Antonio managed to find a quick foothold back in the competition, stealing away another 2 games in a row and taking a 3-2 lead.
On Thursday, the Spurs managed to overwhelm the Nuggets with 120-103, showing everyone that they still have it and intensifying the rivalry between the two teams.
San Antonio showed quite the game on Thursday, with DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge stealing the spotlight and claiming 26 and 25 points respectively. Even then the Nuggets’ Nikola Jokić was unstoppable, scoring 43 points over the course of Game 6 and making history. Jokić has been often called as too big to play with finesse in the NBA, but the athletes’ every game has been an open defiance to any detractor.
Despite Jokić inexorable scoring spree, the Spurs came together stronger as team and they manage to completely outpace the Nuggets in the closing frame, managing a 30-18 lead and practically deciding the game in their favor completely.
Who Will Win Big Game 7?
It is difficult to tell who will win Game 7. Both teams seem to be evenly matched and the results of their past six games only go to show that. The Spurs won Game 6 with a 17-point lead, but the Nuggets secured an 18-point lead in Game 5.
What we know for sure is that the Spurs must find a way to lock Jokić down and as to the Nuggets themselves, they should definitely pick up the pace and support their history making player.
