Sportradar signs a pilot agreement with Dutch authorities to provide bet monitoring for sports competitions in the Netherlands.

Sportradar to Provide Sports Bet Monitoring to the Netherlands

Sportradar Integrity Services, a leading provider of sports integrity solutions, has signed an agreement with The Netherlands Olympic Committee Dutch Sports Federation (NOC*NSF) for monitoring sports competitions in the country in 2021.

Sportradar will provide its extensive bet monitoring, covering every match under the agreement, and it will also give a complete picture of the global betting markets on Dutch sport.

The company will provide risk analysis reporting, which includes data-driven insights for better protection against integrity risks.

As the National Platform for the Netherlands under Council of Europe’s Macolin Convention, NOC*NSF will utilize Sportaradar’s knowledge and experience in battling match-fixing.

NOC*NSF CEO Gerard Dielessen said that this is an essential project for understanding betting exposure that is afforded to Dutch sport.

Sportradar to Monitor over 1500 Matches In 2021

With its 15 years of experience in monitoring, Sportradar Integrity Services will provide bet monitoring and reporting for a wide range of domestic Dutch sporting events, including darts, basketball, and soccer. The company will monitor over 1,500 matches this year.

Dielessen stated that through its bet monitoring on competitions in the Netherlands and thorough analysis of the betting trends, Sportradar would provide insights that will help to come up with a long-term solution for integrity risks.”

Sportradar Integrity Services Managing Director Andreas Krannich said that with this pilot agreement, NOC*NSF shows that they are ready to protect domestic sports competitions from match manipulation and integrity risk.

Krannich said that NOC*NSF would receive ongoing support with analysis of betting market trends, risk factors, developments, and any other threats discussed during the regular reviews. According to him, as this agreement is the first of its kind, it should serve as an example of a national multisport monitoring agreement to other nations.

Sportradar Continues On Its Integrity Mission

Recently, Sportradar signed an agreement with the Swedish Football Association (SvFF) to safeguard its domestic soccer competitions. During the 2021 season, Sportradar will use its Fraud Detection System to monitor over 2,000 matches. Under the agreement, SvFF will integrate the provider’s Intelligence & Investigation Services program to monitor and protect the integrity of the game.

Match-Fixing Has Risen During the Pandemic

There has been an increase in match-fixing attempts in the small leagues during the pandemic. In 2020, the company registered around 160 suspicious games in Asia, according to Sportradar. However, the game fixes have declined globally. Sportradar has identified 526 irregular sporting events in over 600 000 matches globally, with 1,000 tournaments. The irregular games ended with 102 penalties and 9 convicted offenders.
