Genius Sports reported that it had been able to negotiate a settlement with the company, which involves SoftConstruct agreeing to purchase a multi-year license and provide Genius Sports’ data through the latter’s BetConstruct and FeedConstruct channels.
Legal Dispute Aside, a Brighter Future Ahead
The settlement also acknowledges Genius’ ownership of the database rights. Genius Sports CCO Jack Davison welcomed the resolution and said that he was delighted about the outcome and happy to continue working with SoftConstruct. He also stressed the work that Genius Sports has been putting in:
Genius invests significant time, resource, and expertise in creating and developing market-leading technology and databases to collect and supply sports data products across the industry.

The resolution was welcomed on a similarly positive note by SoftConstruct CEO Armand Pinarbasi who said that the outcome allowed the company to continue servicing clients with the best data possible.
“We can now look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship in the years to come,” Pinarbasi assured. Genius Sports previously settled a dispute with Sportradar Group AG involving the former’s partnership with Football DataCo.
Thanks to an agreement negotiated between the two data providers, Football DataCo was allowed to license and market its data as it saw fit. Meanwhile, Genius Sports still retains the rights to provide low-latency betting data from Football DataCo through 2024 as the present time.
