SkyBet Veteran Leaves after 20 Years with the Company

Louise Amos, associate director at online betting giant Flutter Entertainment, announced on her LinkedIn profile that she would take a break from the industry to focus on her family and enjoy life.

Amos Was with SkyBet from the Very Beginning

Amos’ career is a prime example of how dedication and perseverance can pay off. After she graduated from Leeds Beckett University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sport and Exercise Science, she spent her entire professional journey with gaming operator SkyBet. She has been with the company since its inception in 2000 and persevered through several acquisitions, growing alongside the business.

The industry veteran started as head of customer operations at Sky Betting and Gaming and led a team of over 100 people, focusing on customer experience and development. At that point, she already had some experience in the gambling market, thanks to her work as a team Leader and authorization clerk for operator William Hill while still at university. Amos had also worked as a supervisor at the call center for Surrey Sports, one of SkyBet’s initial constituent companies.

Over the next 19 years, Amos stayed with the operator as the company steadily expanded. Her positions during this period included head of product, head of the customer experience, and ultimately head of business improvements.

The Industry Veteran Survived Several Acquisitions

In 2018, Sky Betting and Gaming were acquired by The Stars Group for £3.4 billion. Amos appears to have quickly adapted to the change, and in 2019 she became head of account management at the gaming operator’s new parent company.

2020 saw another acquisition when online gambling giant Flutter Entertainment acquired The Stars Group and its assets, including SkyBet. Amos’ efforts and expertise received immediate recognition, and she joined Flutter as head of product for the company’s PokerStars Sports division. Six months later, she rose to her most recent position of associate director of portfolio, planning, and product.

She Will Now Take Some Time for Herself

Louise Amos had warm feelings regarding her time with SkyBet, fondly recalling her experiences and challenges.

“It has been an unbelievable journey with so many highs, a couple of lows, but I wouldn’t change a thing. Every part of my journey has taught me something and made me who I am today.

Amos thanked her colleagues and added that many of them had become lifelong friends. She remarked that she would spend at least the next six months off to have a break, focus on her family and see where the world takes her.

Many of Amos’ colleagues commented on her departure, thanking her for her hard work and dedication. Many described her as a #skybetlegend and wished her luck in her next chapter.
