Scout Gaming Expands Partner Network
B2B daily fantasy sports provider Scout Gaming has inked a partnership deal with video game lifestyle brand Razer. Under the terms of the agreement, Scout Gaming will host a mobile app that will provide Razer users with access to fantasy esports tournaments.
The name of the brand, which will operate the collaboration, is yet unknown. Although the deal will not have a significant impact on the short-term revenue of Scout Gaming, it is expected to bring significant benefits in the long term.
Razer’s portfolio of products includes hardware and software, as well as a platform with more than 125 million subscribers. In terms of software, Razer stands out with its cloud-based configuration tool Razer Synapse, the world’s largest RGB lighting ecosystem for gaming devices, Razer Chroma RGB, and game optimiser and launcher, Razer Cortex.
The company is also active in the financial segment with payment and fintech services. Its Razer Gold virtual credits for gamers can be used in 34,000 games and entertainment apps to buy in-game items and unlock exclusive content. Its Razer Fintech brand offers fintech services in emerging markets.
The B2B daily fantasy sports provider reported a 54% annual rise in revenue in the period January-March 2021. The double-digit growth was due to the expansion of its customer base and the increased price pools, the company said. Revenue for the first quarter reached $1.6 million.

In the first months of the year, the provider signed an agreement with Swedish gaming operator ATG, as well as with the Norwegian Norsk Tipping. While Scout’s integration with both operators was successfully finalized, the Norwegian Ministry of Culture is yet to give it regulatory approval for the launch of Norsk Tipping.
“We are confident in being able to deliver long-term high growth in the future and will leverage the fact that we ourselves are largely building the European fantasy sports market”.
Andreas Ternstrom, CEO, Scout Gaming
Scout’s results were further boosted by higher activity on behalf of clients compared to the same period in 2020, mostly because of the higher prize pools. Scout chief executive officer Andreas Ternstrom highlighted that the operator spent more on marketing than in the same quarter last year. Ternstrom said this was an investment into the brand’s positioning in a year with a busy sports calendar.
