Scientific Games Boosts Production Capacities with Leeds Center
Scientific Games Corporation has revealed its latest brick-and-mortar manufacturing center based in Leeds, the United Kingdom. The production facility will support the UK National Lottery as well as provide equipment and product for 50 other lotteries in Europe and across the world.
Boosting Local Economy and Production in UK and Beyond
The new facility will also add to the overall production capacity of the company by 20%, Scientific Games explained. That will come with the creation of 175 new jobs in the company’s workforce in the UK alone.
Scientific Games’ expertise in instant lottery games allows it to stay competitive in a vertical that accounts for 70% of all lottery retail sales. Commenting on the opening of the new facility and attending the official ribbon-cutting ceremony, Scientific Games VP of global strategic accounts EMEA Kevin Anderson had this to say:
“Our investment in this UK production expansion represents our strong commitment to serve the UK National Lottery and lotteries throughout Europe, and to entertain the world’s players through our instant game innovation.”
Through Scientific Games’ efforts, instant lottery games have become a $4.7 billion business. According to La Fleur’s 2020 Almanac, the National Lottery currently ranks sixth per capital retail sales globally.
Scientific Games Continues to Expand Manufacturing Clout
SG VP of global manufacturing Mark Scholey added that the expanded technology production capabilities allowed the company to deliver new games to more markets quicker. “The expansion strengthens our nearly 50 years of global leadership in lottery instant products, and importantly helps our lottery customers drive maximum proceeds to support their beneficiary programs,” Scholey concluded.
Scientific Games is confident that its new facility in Leeds is currently the world’s most innovative manufacturing center tasked with creating instant lottery games. Lotteries are just one of the business faucets SG currently caters to.
The company is equally well-represented in the sports betting and iGaming sector as well as a manufacturer of brick-and-mortar slot machines and gaming devices.
