Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa, also known as the national lottery in Portugal, picked Scientific Games as its exclusive supplier of instant games. Under the three-year agreement, the company is going to bring innovative instant game content for the fourth largest instant games operator in Europe.
Scientific Games Becomes SCML’s Exclusive Supplier of Instant Games
Scientific Games, the gaming technology supplier, announced that it was selected as an exclusive supplier of instant games for Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa (SCML) in Portugal. Under the new contract, Scientific Games is going to supply SCML with instant game content for three years. Furthermore, the exclusive agreement will bring innovative designs, playstyles, and price points for players in Portugal.
SCML, which serves as Portugal’s retail betting and national lottery operator, is ranked within the top 20 performing lotteries in the world. Furthermore, SCML is the fourth largest instant game operator in Europe, making some $1.9 billion in annual retail sales from instant games.
SG Is Excited to Expand Its Collaboration with SCML
John Schulz, Senior VP, Instant Products for Scientific Games, shared his excitement by saying that the company is honored to be the primary instant game supplier for the SCML. Furthermore, he added that the company is excited to expand its long-term successful relationship with SCML in Portugal. Schulz did not miss saying that Scientific Games will continue providing exciting game content for Portuguese players, while at the same time “generating maximum proceeds for the Lottery’s charitable cause.”

Back in 1974, Scientific Games launched the world’s first secure retail instant game. More recently, the company launched the first digital instant game in the US back in 2014. The company is famous for being the biggest creator, manufacturer and services provider of instant games in the world.
Currently, Scientific Games provides its technology, services and games to more than 150 lotteries globally. Besides SCML, SG provides instant games to 48 European lotteries such as Lotterie Nazionali in Italy, the National Lottery in the UK, Française des Jeux in France and more.
SCML Is Pleased to Sign the Agreement with Scientific Games

Furthermore, he acknowledged that SCML and Scientific Games have collaborated for a long time, which helped build the foundation for responsible instant game entertainment. Before the recent agreement, SG had also provided instant games dubbed Raspadinha for the Portuguese lottery back in 1995, when it first launched. Those games provided a solid foundation for SCML to build on and prove its global success.
