PointsBet Welcomes NFL Legend Drew Brees to the Family

PointsBet has secured retired New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees as the company’s latest brand ambassador.

PointsBet Adds Drew Brees as Ambassador

Sports betting operator PointsBet has teamed up with NFL ace and future Hall of Famer Drew Brees, who is now part of the company’s ambassadorship. Brees is on his way to becoming a broadcasting talent with NBC Sports, which has picked PointsBet as its official sports betting partner. The triangle will allow the companies to consolidate their alliance and look to create new mutually beneficial opportunities in the sports betting landscape, and not least tapping Brees’ vast expertise.

PointsBet USA CEO Johnny Aitken welcomed Brees to the “PointsBet family,” touting his many qualities, such as work ethic and professional drive. Drew possesses “the scrappy, well-prepared challenged, win-at-all-costs mentality that embodies PointsBet’s DNA,” Aitken said.

Aitken remained hopeful that Brees and PointsBet may collaborate for years to come and create opportunities to build “a market-leading technology infrastructure and strategic approach to the competitive sports betting space.” Brees is also joining in as a PointsBet shareholder with an equity stake, giving the NFL all-time legend another reason to want and push PointsBet’s reach and clout in the sports betting space.

Commenting on this partnership, Brees had this to add: “I am excited to team up with PointsBet, a leader in the future of sports entertainment built off elite technology. Sports betting is growing across the country and will positively impact sports engagement, and I am proud to be at the forefront alongside PointsBet and NBC Sports.”

Building PointsBet’s Profile across the US

Meanwhile, PointsBet will benefit from extended coverage on the NBC Sports Network, as the broadcaster will use the sportsbook’s digital assets to promote it. PointsBet will also appear as an integrated solution on NBC Sports Regional Networks.

Similarly, the company is also engaging with Hispanic sports fans via Telemundo Deportes and Telemundo broadcast stations. PointsBet has been on a tear, making important moves across the United States, a new market for the Australian sports betting firm that is now quickly gaining market share.

In June, the company signed an agreement with Riverboat Group for market access in Maryland. The company pulled more executive resources in June when it appointed Nic Sulsky as its new chief commercial officer. The company is equally well-represented in the iGaming sector after it launched a dedicated online casino in Michigan in May. March was another pivotal month for the company as it managed to secure market access deals to Pennsylvania and Mississippi.
