A US digital sports media company has introduced a new content vertical to enter the world of sports betting and explore the numerous possibilities it presents.
Sports Betting Content
Playmaker, a digital media and talent management firm, announced today the launch of its new content vertical, “Playmaker Betting,” which will feature sports betting content, events, games and other perks for its audience.
Alongside the launch, Playmaker revealed its latest high-profile investor, renowned poker player Jeff Gross, who will collaborate with the company for the creation of the new content that will be rolled out in the coming months.
We are thrilled to bring on Jeff Gross as not only an investor, but an advisor as well. Jeff has already provided us several valuable alignments with his existing network and portfolio and will be announcing those partnerships later this month.”
David Woodley, CCO and CRO, Playmaker
Speaking about his participation and investment, Jeff Gross noted that it was Phil Hellmuth who introduced him to the management team at Playmaker, hinting that he and Hellmuth have some cool things in store for the World Series of Poker.
The sports industry is growing so quickly. Betting is becoming less taboo and legalized at a federal level. Poker is coming back online in many states. People are gonna do it anyway, you want to show them good value spots, just do it responsibly.”

The collaborative content will include Jeff’s podcast, as well as a series after his participation in the World Series of Poker, and will be available across all Playmaker social media platforms, Instagram, Facebook, Twitch, TikTok, YouTube, and others.
We see the future of sports betting content being short-form, snackable video & audio content, as well as two-way, conversational live experiences, from events to SMS, streaming and everything in between.”
Brandon Harris, CEO, Playmaker
Fan and Bettor Engagement
The digital sports media is expected to have a significant impact on the sports betting landscape and professional poker with its more than 25 original series and podcasts that ensure fan and player engagement by taking experience to a new level.
We will create content & experiences that are fun, engaging & informative first, and naturally introduce sports betting into the conversation.”
Brandon Harris, CEO, Playmaker
Playmaker launched its sports betting operations earlier last month, partnering with leading sports betting and casino operators like BetMGM and CircaSports. It targets the new generation of sports bettors aged 21-34, as well as existing bettors.
Playmaker also launched an SMS-based game named that will be running throughout the season in the NFL. Launched in partnership with the AFFL, Speed Survivor is a free-to-play two-way conversational game in which players answer questions within a specified amount of time until only one player remains. When launched for the first time during the NBA draft, the game awarded the winner $1,000.
