Parx Casino and Racing, the Pennsylvania-based flagship casino resort, has launched its full-scale offer after an official 48-hour period during which it tested its sportsbook and gained the last nod from the regulator to go ahead.
Parx Casino Successfully Launches Sportsbook in Pennsylvania
Owned by Greenwood and commanding one of the most impressive casino resorts building in Pennsylvania, Parx Casino and Racing has now launched its sports betting offer after fine-tuning the sports platform during the 48-hour test that took place from January 8 through January 10.
To ensure the high-quality of the portfolio, Parx partners with none other than Kambi, the reputed iGaming software developer & sports betting platform company, which has supplied the venue with 45 betting kiosks and seven counters where customers can go to make their wagers.
Parx and Kambi have developed an outstanding mobile platform that will work with visitors’ own smartphones and portable devices. Users can benefit from the Parx’s Betslip Builder tool and then use a QR code, which a cashier in the venue can scan. This guarantees that placing wagers will not be unnecessarily slowed down by excessive redtape.
Respected casino & gaming journalist Steve Ruddock has highlighted the use of a QR code in Parx. He said that it was a nice touch that allowed the venue to stand out from its competition.
The news was well-met by Parx Casino SVP of Interactive Gaming and Sports Matt Cullen who welcomed the expansion of the casino’s portfolio as well as brushing upon the customer experience:
Parx Casino is thrilled to launch legalised sports betting on property this week, and to do so with such a high-quality product from Kambi is particularly exciting.
The Greenwood subsidiary is now planning to launch another test at the South Philadelphia Turf Club, another venue it owns. The venue is perfectly located and it’s close to the Lincoln Financial Field and Stadium and the Citizen’s Bank Field, guaranteeing the Turf Club a steady flow of customers.
Meanwhile, Kambi is also preparing to carry out other launches for Greenwood Gaming, particularly at the Valley Forge Turf Club. Parx is also in the process of preparing itself to release its online sportsbook across Pennsylvania once it has successfully managed to obtain approval from the state’s regulator, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB).
Kambi is among the state’s most-preferred sportsbook partners, with the company supplying Rivers and SugarHouse casinos. Competition is narrow at the moment, with the only other provider being William Hill, which has provided the Hollywood Casino at Penn National racecourse with the venue’s sports betting software. Parx Casino has been the second casino to offer sports betting on the market after SugarHouse.
