Ukraine Appoints Executives for New Gambling Commission

The Cabinet of Ministers in Ukraine revealed the names of the leadership team for the new gambling and lottery commission. Once the team members are officially approved and the government establishes the licensing conditions, it is expected for the new commission to launch next year.

Government Officials Name the Executive Team for the Gambling Commission in Ukraine

Earlier this week, the Cabinet of Ministers named the leadership team members who will be running the Ukraine Gambling and Lottery Commission (UGLC) in the country. The UGLC will be enforcing the approved gambling law and it is expected to launch its application and licensing process next year. However, before the launch of the UGLC, Ukraine government will need to establish the licensing conditions. Furthermore, each named leadership team member will have to undergo a series of tests, however, the Cabinet of Ministers is yet to reveal specific details.

Once all leadership candidates are formally approved by the Ukraine government, the next step will be to hire an additional 230 members. It is expected for those members to support the UGLC operations across all provinces of Ukraine. Furthermore, six regional directors are going to be appointed to report directly to the UGLC headquarters in Kyiv.

Oleg Nemchinov, Cabinet of Ministers leader previously revealed that the UGLC’s Director-General will be Ivan Rudyi. As a former Ukrainian Special Forces member, he has profound experience in foreign affairs, criminal prosecution, law, and IT.

More Members Join the Commission’s Leadership Team

Furthermore, the UGLC joins Yevhen Hetman, who is a former NATO delegate with significant experience in international relations. Another member of the executive leadership team of UGLC is Olena Vodolazhko. Besides being a lawyer, Vodolazhko is also a member of the leading team of the Ukrainian Bar Association.

Tetyana Kiriyenko is also joining the UGLC. Her background features experience in law, economics, and internal affairs. Yuriy Kravchenko is another member of the the regulatory body’s management team. He has experience in IT, law and he is also a member of the Game Development Club.

Ensuring that the newly formed UGLC conducts proper regulation, licensing, and monitoring of the operators, an independent agency will be supervising those activities under the country’s gambling law.
