Puerto Rico: Foxwoods El San Juan Casino Celebrates Soft Launch

Earlier this week, Foxwoods El San Juan Casino celebrated its soft launch. While the venue already accepted its first visitors, a grand opening ceremony is planned for January next year.

Foxwoods El San Juan Casino Opens for Visitors

Foxwoods El San Juan Casino located at Fairmont El San Juan Hotel in Puerto Rico opened its doors for visitors early this week. Thousands of visitors enjoyed the public soft launch on Wednesday. Complementing the soft launch, an official grand opening celebration will take place in January 2022.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony on November 17 gathered members of the community, Tribal Council members as well as Foxwoods’ president and CEO. Mayor of Carolina José Carlos Aponte Dalmau and Puerto Rico Governor Pedro Pierlusi have also attended the soft opening ceremony.

The venue welcomed visitors looking to enjoy the table games, new slot machines as well as first-class service and luxury amenities that the resort offers. Currently, Foxwoods El San Juan casino is operating from 10 am through 2 am daily. The venue’s working hours will remain like this until mid-December, but if COVID-19 protocols are eased, the casino plans to operate 24/7.

The Venue Is Emblematic for Puerto Rico

In a statement, Governor Pierluisi said that Foxwoods announced back in January its plans to reopen the iconic casino. He acknowledged that he is pleased to see Foxwoods El San Juan casino open its doors for visitors. Governor Pierluisi said that the $12.5 million invested in the casino will impact the local economy and create 150 jobs. In conclusion, he stressed that efforts like Foxwoods El San Juan casino contribute to the growth of tourism and investment in Puerto Rico.

Stuart I.C. Levene, the managing director and general manager of Foxwoods El San Juan Casino revealed that it is thrilling to see the venue reopen its doors after five years. He acknowledged that the venue is going to offer exciting gaming and entertainment experiences for Puerto Rico visitors and residents.
