PGA Tour Launches Low6’s Free-to-Play Game with PointsBet

The PGA Tour and NBC Sports have launched the PGA Tour Pick’Em Live free-to-play game available on the PGA Tour app and the Tour’s website. As a free-to-play solution developed by Low6 and powered by PointsBet across North America, the game should allow more sports fans to get to experience betting on their favorite sport without necessarily wagering real money.

Win Rewards, Have Fun, Carry None of the Risk

On the flip side, they stand to win real weekly prizes by placing bets on various parameters. The companies hope to drive stronger engagement with consumers using the free-to-play model, in which Low6 has been excelling over the last months. Commenting on this partnership, PGA Tour SVP of Media and Gaming Norb Gambuzza said:

We look forward to working with NBC Sports, PointsBet, and Low6 to provide a free-to-play game for PGA TOUR fans. Sports betting products in golf continue to experience tremendous growth, so we’re excited to provide our fans with the option to experience exciting in-play games in a free-to-play environment.

The Pick’Em Live game will bring weekly rewards worth $5,000 and start today, just ahead of The Genesis Invitational. Once all tee times have been confirmed for each event, the game will let players make selections. PointsBet CCO Eric Foote welcomed the opportunity to be working with Low6, NBC Sport, and the PGA Tour.

“As we continue to increase the number of in-play betting opportunities, ‘PGA TOUR Pick’Em Live’ helps us redefine and elevate the way we interact with PGA TOUR fans. This launch not only underscores our commitment to diversifying our portfolio of innovative products for customers, but it also highlights how and where we can reach users.”

Low6 Becomes Regional Powerhouse of F2P Options

Low6 has been expanding its footprint in the United States, tying up many high-profile partnerships. Recently, the company completed a $5 million funding round to power up its expansion across the country. The company similarly secured partnerships with the Detroit Pistons and the Cincinnati Bengals.

The original partnership between the PGA Tour and PointsBet featuring a free-to-play game was inked in October last year, but it took until release. Low6 was confirmed as the free-to-play game developer on the announcement of the collaboration. Free-to-play has become more than a buzzword for the sports world.

Once a niche market offering, this solution is now excelling in onboarding new customers and converting fans into paying bettors. BoyleSports and 20SHOTS recently teamed up to introduce their Fantasy5 F2P game to soccer fans in the United Kingdom. Others have been subscribing to the model, including the lifestyle brand Maxim Bet which launched its dedicated MaximBet Play at the end of last year.
