OKTO to Power Cashless Payments for London Hippodrome Casino

Payments provider OKTO announced today an agreement with London Hippodrome Casino that will add the OKTO.WALLET solution to the Hippodrome Casino Members mobile app and make the casino the first in the UK to go cashless.

First UK Casino to Go Cashless

OKTO’s entry into the land-based casino market in the UK via integration with the Hippodrome Casino Members mobile app is expected to empower patrons to gamble in a responsible way while taking full advantage of real-time payments as the proprietary platform ticks all the requirement boxes of the modern casino customer.

Commenting on the announcement, OKTO chief commercial officer Simon Dorsen outlined that the partnership with such a respected and high-profile gaming and entertainment brand as Hippodrome Casino serves as a powerful endorsement of OKTO’s capabilities to cater to “all niche players” while also offering them enhanced payment experiences.

“The Hippodrome was the first to interpret changes in legislation bringing about a new style of UK casino that has put the venue firmly on the world map. Now the established cornerstone of West End life introduces OKTO to its visitors, being always in the front line of digitalization.”

Built on the premises of safer gambling, the OKTO.WALLET aligns with the core values of Hippodrome Casino and will provide its patrons with responsible gambling tools to facilitate secure know-your-customer (KYC) and age verification procedures.

“Since opening nearly a decade ago on July 13th, 2012, the Hippodrome is the UK’s largest and subsequently most popular casino and entertainment venue has set new standards in everything that it has done and that includes digital payments and the 1st casino membership app that includes a customer wallet.”

Hippodrome Expands, OKTO’s Presence Grows

Last month, Hippodrome Casino announced it would be expanding its food and dining options with the addition of three new facilities in the summer, following the acquisition of an additional 2,400 square feet of space.

The new dining options will be CrêpeAffaire, an all-day eatery serving French crêpes and traditional coffee and deserts, Chop Chop by Four Seasons, a contemporary Chinese restaurant with an emphasis on Hong Kong traditional food, and a cocktail bar featuring a subterranean theme.

The landmark casino in London, which also implemented Sensor AI solutions provided by SenSen Networks, became the latest operator to join the roster of OKTO’s cashless casino partners.

In February, Spanish-based gaming group Codere signed a deal with OKTO to adopt the provider’s mobile-first payment solution and allow its customers to go cashless.

In April, OKTO received industry recognition via a strategic partnership with the European Casino Association (ECA).
