IGT and Holland Casino Agree to Mega Millions Extension
IGT has extended its ongoing partnership with Holland Casino and will continue to provide the reputable land-based gaming establishment with its Mega Millions exclusive wide area progressive jackpot, or WAP.
IGT and Holland Casino to Keep at It
The companies first came to an agreement back in 2015 when they signed a partnership to pilot the game and see how it will fare in the context of the closely-regulated gambling market in the Netherlands. The partnership was welcomed by IGT SVP of EMEA gaming Mark MacCombie:
Extending our partnership with Holland Casino solidifies IGT’s commitment to providing customers with industry-leading solutions that drive performance on their floors.

Seven years after the original partnership, both partners have nothing but positive feedback for the efficiency of WAP in driving consumer engagement, interest, and results for all. The new partnership will come along with the introduction of a new jackpot version, IGT’s latest creation. The game will be featured across 14 retail locations in the Netherlands and it will offer $1 million in prize pools.
The company has also been noticing a significant interest in its own products and as such, it has made modifications to its PeakSlant49 gaming cabinet to allow for more games by the company to be added, including Bubble Blast, Spells ‘n Whistles, Trials of Atlantis and other complementary titles that can be played besides Mega Millions WAP games.
Mega Millions has had many successful attempts at engaging players and helping consumers explore gaming in more meaningful and clear ways. MacCombie believes that the WAP solution is a next-generation of jackpot games solution that stands out and is precisely what defines its success in the country.
Holland Casino Happy with Mega Millions’ Success
In the meantime, Holland Casino’s director of gaming and services, Pieter Boers, has had nothing but praise for IGT’s products. He welcomed the extension and said that IGT delivered nothing but world-class gaming options. He also appreciated the fact that Holland Casino is the sole operator of this type of progressive jackpot in the country.
The Mega Millions game has already dished out ten one-million jackpots since it launched in the country, making it a highly popular option with locals.
