ESPN Debuts New Studio at Caesars’ LINQ in Las Vegas

ESPN’s new studio facility debuts today at Caesars’ LINQ hotel. The studio features state-of-the-art UHD 4K-capable technologies with which the company strengthens its presence in the gambling capital.

New Studio by ESPN Debuts at Caesars’ LINQ Hotel

Monday, August 24, ESPN announced the debut of its new studio at Caesars’ LINQ Hotel + Experience in Las Vegas. The company is expanding its U.S. presence aiming at providing a more robust and exclusive sports betting experience in Las Vegas.

The new facility includes three studios and spreads across 6,000 square feet. ESPN’s LINQ studio features 12 cameras as well as two exterior robotic cameras. The company said that the new studio is built to be fully capable to support native 4K, and will launch in 1080p.

According to ESPN, the new LINQ studio will serve as an epicenter of the sports broadcaster’s “sports betting-themed content for linear, digital and, social shows.” The company added that the new studio will also serve a vital role during major sports events in the gambling capital.

The company said that it will also move the Daily Wager show to the new studio and will launch a digital sports betting show this fall. Hosted by Doug Kezirian, the sports betting and information program Daily Wager will move permanently to the new LINQ studio beginning September 8.

Las Vegas Transforming into a Sports City

ESPN’s VP of Business Development, Mike Morrison commented by saying: “In our ongoing mission to serve sports fans, we are committing to a bigger presence both in Las Vegas and with our content across platforms to authentically serve a fast-growing, highly engaged audience.” He added that the company is incredibly fortunate to work with a great partner such as Caesars Entertainment. In conclusion, Morrison said that he is looking forward to more opportunities in the future.

Caesars Entertainment Inc, Co-President of Caesars Sports, Chris Holdren also shared positive thoughts. He said: “The debut of the all-new ESPN studio at The LINQ Hotel + Experience is a testament both to Las Vegas’ position as the sports betting capitol of the world and its transformation into a sports city.” Consequently, Holdren outlined that the location of the new studio is at the heart of the Strip of Las Vegas. Finally, he said that Caesars is excited to see the unique programming that could only be produced in Las Vegas.

ESPN Strengthens Its Presence in Las Vegas 

Further to the announcement by ESPN, the EVP of Content, Connor Schell also commented on the subject. “The appetite for sports betting content continues to grow among fans,” said Schell. He added that the new studio will serve as the headquarters for the new content but it will also strengthen the year-round presence of the company in Las Vegas. According to Schell, the new studio will also allow the company to “meaningfully cover the lineup of major events on the horizon” such as the UFC, NFL, and more.

Chris Calcinari, SVP of Remote Production Operations, ESPN & ABC Sports also shared his thoughts regarding the new studio. He outlined that the location of the new LINQ studio is ideal. Moreover, Calcinari said that the new studio was built with state-of-the-art UHD 4K-capable technologies. ESPN will continue to service the growing audience of sports fans with quality content, concluded Calcinari.
