EEG Joins Forces with Hard Rock AC to Bring the First Esports Skill-Based Tournament

Skill-based gambling games took the industry by storm. While the new form of gambling entertainment is yet to establish itself as a solid performer on the market, those games certainly look more appealing to the younger generation. Now, thanks to a new collaboration, the first esports skill-based wagering event in the United States will take place early next year.

The First Esports Skill-Based Tournament in the US to Take Place in January

Esports Entertainment Group (EEG) has announced a new collaboration with Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Atlantic City. The unique partnership will bring the first-ever esports skill-based tournament to the US. The duo agreed to create the tournament which is expected to launch on January 22 and run through January 23, 2022.

With that in mind, this is the first skill-based esports gaming event that has received the approval of the regulator in New Jersey – the Division of Gaming Enforcement. The tournament will be organized in person and each of the 256 players will be allowed to wager on themselves for each round of the event.

Participants in the tournament will be required to check-in. After that, they’ll create a LANDuel account and be assigned to a PC to start playing. Although this is the first tournament of its kind, this doesn’t mean that it will be the last one. In fact, EEG revealed that LANDuel paves the way for more esports betting events as there will be “permanent installations in the future at the casino and hotel venue.”

The Collaboration Brings Excitement for the Duo

Joe Lupo, the president of Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Atlantic City revealed that the venue is excited to offer the first-of-its-kind esports wagering tournament in collaboration with EEG.
