Field Test at Aliante Casino
The BoydPay digital wallet solution, which allows customers to create a cashless digital wallet and link it to third-party funding sources via Sightline Payments, was initially introduced at Blue Chip Casino Resort Spa in Michigan City, Indiana, last month.
The field trial Boyd Gaming and Aristocrat launched at Aliante Casino in North Las Vegas, Nevada, expanded the number of states in which gaming properties of the casino operator feature the cashless solution to 3. BoydPay is also present at Belterra Park in Cincinnati, Ohio.
“BoydPay is the latest product of our partnership with Boyd and the foundation of a memorable customer journey. We have the industry’s best people making the most innovative products that enhance the guest experience.”
Cath Burns, Executive VP, Customer Experience Solutions, Aristocrat
The BoydPay digital wallet, during its initial phase, is linked to the player’s loyalty card, B Connected, allowing play or cash out on slot machines, supplied by content and technology by Aristocrat. Boyd Gaming is planning on deploying the solution at all of its casino venues in the US by the summer of 2021, pending regulatory approval.
“Through our innovative partnership with Aristocrat, we will create a unique and seamless payment experience for Boyd Gaming customers, allowing them to use their smartphones to play casino games, cash out, and pay for restaurant meals, show tickets or hotel rooms.”

Future Contactless Experience
For the next phases, and also pending regulatory approval, BoydPay will be linked to the casino operator’s B Connected Mobile app and will offer customers contactless play or cash out via their smartphones. The digital wallet solution will also allow punters to pay for amenities throughout the properties.
“By going cashless, our customers will be able to avoid the wait times and inconveniences associated with using cash and focus on enjoying their visit to our properties.”
Blake Rampmaier, SVP and CIO, Boyd Gaming
Boyd Gaming is not the only casino operator that seeks to implement cashless solutions at its gaming properties. In California, the Morongo Band of Mission Indians utilized a technology solution from Marker Trax at the Morongo Casino and Resort to make the casino property the first to go cashless, while in Florida, the Seminole Tribe deployed technology from Everi Holdings to offer cashless solutions.
