Betfred Secures Three Challenge Cup Title Sponsorships

Betfred announced today that it extended its RFL partnership to include title sponsorship for the 2021 Challenge Cup, the Women’s Challenge Cup, and the Wheelchair Rugby League Challenge Cup.

Betfred and RFL Extend Partnership

UK-based sports betting operator Betfred announced today that it has secured title sponsorship for the 2021 Challenge Cup, the Women’s Challenge Cup as well as the Wheelchair Rugby League Challenge Cup as the company builds on its prolonged partnership with the Super League. As a result of the sponsorship agreement, Betfred Challenge Cup winners will be crowned in July at Wembley. Furthermore, the Betfred Super League trophy will be presented in October at Old Trafford.

Currently, Leeds Rhinos hold all three Challenge Cups after beating Salford Red Devils at Wembley in October last year. On March 21, the Betfred Challenge Cup will kick off the 2021 Rugby League season. A total of 8 ties are going to involve clubs from Betfred Championship and League 1. The Third Round stage involving the 12 Betfred Super League clubs is set for April 11. While the draw for the First and Second Rounds is set for next week Thursday, February 11.

Quarter-Finals are set for May 8-9 and the Semi-Finals are scheduled for June 5. The final at Wembley is planned for Saturday, July 17. In its statement, Betfred revealed that details on the Women’s and Wheelchair Challenge Cups for 2021 can be expected soon.

The Company Is Delighted to Support the Rugby Leagues

Betfred’s boss, Fred Done shared his excitement by saying that he is delighted to announce additional support for the Rugby Leagues during these incredibly difficult times. Furthermore, he acknowledged that the Challenge Cup has a rich heritage and that he is “very keen” to include both the Women’s Challenge Cup and the Wheelchair Challenge Cup. In conclusion, Done stressed that this is an important year for the sport with the culmination of the World Cup in October/November.

The Rugby Football League chief executive, Ralph Rimmer said that the League is excited to announce an extension of the League’s partnership with Betfred to add the Men’s, Women’s, and Wheelchair Challenge Cups in 2021. Furthermore, he acknowledged that Betfred has already shown a commitment to the Women’s Rugby League after, in 2019, the operator became the first title partner. Rimmer also stressed that he is “especially pleased” that Betfred became the first title partner of the Wheelchair Challenge Cup.
