BCLC and Scientific Games Help Greentube Launch in Canada
Scientific Games and BCLC have assisted Novomatic’s interactive division, Greentube, with its market entry into the Canadian iGaming market.
Greentube Arrives on Canadian Market with BCLC
Novomatic’s interactive division, Greentube, has launched on the Canadian market through a partnership with Scientific Games and the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC).
The partnership will see Greentube bring several dedicated titles, including Lucky Lady’s Charm, Sizzling Hot, and Book Ra, and more, as the Canadian market continues to explore further legalization of single-event betting and online gaming in separate provinces.
The available products will be added to the PlayNow.com domain and launch in British Columbia and Manitoba. Greentube will use the partnership as a stepping-stone to expand its clout in the North American market throughout the year.
The move is important to the company, argues Greentube CGO and CFO Michael Bauer, who adds that BCLC is the first company to agree and roll out Greentube’s portfolio. It all ties into the interactive division’s broader North American market strategy.
Not least, it’s a commitment that Greentube is prepared to focus on the regulated Canadian iGaming market as all products that the company brings forward are licensed and benefit from regulatory approval.
“We bring a broad range of exciting new content specifically developed for the North American players, as well as our premium legacy content, which we believe will add real value to BCLC’s current proposition. We are looking forward to this long-term partnership,” Bauer concluded.
Canada Becoming More Liberal towards Gambling
As Greentube welcomes the opportunity to expand in the Canadian market, the country itself is undergoing some significant changes. Earlier this year, Score Media welcomed legislators’ efforts to pass Bill C-281, a piece of legislation that is effectively looking to legalize single-event sports betting and move away from a more restrictive pari-mutuel format.
In anticipation of future big changes, Entain has launched research into consumer practices in the country. Meanwhile, Nova Scotia and Alberta have been actively pursuing a course towards the legalization of iGaming in their respective provinces.
