Network Gaming’s Strategic Funding Round Raised £1.25m
A strategic round of funding saw Network Gaming attract £1.25 million ($1.65 million) investment from industry angels, including Betfair co-founder Andrew Black, to support its efforts to innovate sports prediction games.
Games to Complement Live Sports Experience
Betting technology company Network Gaming raised the money to power the next phase of its international growth and further develop its product. Chief executive officers of Colossus Bets and TX Odds David O’Reilly and Einar Knobel, owner of Sutton United FC Garry Otto, and Sandford Loudon, a partner of Oakside Capital consultancy, also took part in the funding round.
“I’ve felt for a while now that the betting landscape is ripe for change, and I’m delighted to be working with Network Gaming on a few fresh ideas.”
Andrew Black, Co-Founder, Betfair
Network Gaming is planning to use the funding to continue the development of bespoke games aimed to complement the experience for audiences while watching live sporting events, with a particular focus on the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup, NFL, NBA and MLB, as well as expanding its current offering across football, horse racing and golf.
“We give customers the experience of a game, not just a bet. Moving up or down a leaderboard right until the final seconds of an event offers a different type of excitement to betting, one where enjoyment comes from competing against friends or other sports fans in a rollercoaster ride.”
Harry Collins, CEO, Network Gaming
Customer Experience at the Core
Network Gaming’s first pay-to-play game, the Fantasy Masters golf game, proved to be an enormous success for the developer, even pitting friends and colleagues against one another in a competition until the very last moment for large cash prizes.
Network Gaming’s next generation of sports prediction games will build on the company’s success by putting the customer experience at the center in the design of bespoke and socially responsible games, while benefiting from a collaborative approach with its partners: operator Fitzdares, sports media talkSPORT and Dream Team, The Sun’s fantasy football.
“We’re delighted to have an industry trailblazer like Andrew advising us on fresh ideas and to have the support of other experienced innovators for this step-change in Network Gaming’s evolution,” concluded Collins.
