NetEnt launched Friday its iGaming content in Michigan after the state legalized the activity that day.
Michigan Legalizes Online Gaming
NetEnt entered the Michigan online gaming market last Friday, following the legalization of mobile gambling on the same day. The launch strengthens the operator’s position as a leading gaming provider in the US.
DraftKings, FanDuel, Rush Street Interactive’s BetRivers, BetMGM, Churchill Downs, Golden Nugget, WynnBET, and William Hill, launched their iGaming offerings on January 22, after receiving the approval of the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB).
PointsBet was also approved to launch in the state since then.
NetEnt Expands US Footprint
According to NetEnt, all operators approved to launch in Michigan will offer the supplier’s titles, including Divine Fortune, Starburst, and Blackjack.
The launch furthers NetEnt’s expansion in the US. The company operates in New Jersey since 2015, in Pennsylvania since 2019, and in West Virginia since last year. The operator was acquired by Evolution at the beginning of December 2020, in a deal worth about $2.36 billion.
Evolution plans to open a live casino broadcast studio later this year in Michigan, becoming its third studio facility in the nation after New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
“America is an absolute priority market for Evolution Group, which is reflected by the scale of NetEnt’s first-day presence in Michigan. We are poised to add more operators in all US markets during 2021 and have a roadmap of high-profile game launches.”
