Iconic basketball star and NBA player, Michael Jordan, is taking the role of a special advisor at the Board of Directors at Sportradar. The company unveiled that Jordan will also increase his investment in the company.
Michael Jordan Becomes Special Advisor for Sportradar, Increases Investment
Sportradar, the leading global provider of sports betting and entertainment products and services, announced on Monday that NBA legend Michael Jordan will serve as a special advisor at the Board of Directors of the company. The iconic NBA player, who happens to be an early Sportradar investor, will increase his investment in the company, effective immediately.
As a special advisor for the Board, Jordan will help with management, guidance and strategic counsel focused on the US market. The NBA star will also help with key business initiatives such as product development and marketing activities.

Sharing his excitement because of these developments, Jordan said that he invested in Sportradar years before. He was primarily driven by the passion and vision that the company’s CEO, Carsten Koerl, and the team “had for transforming the sports technology industry.” Jordan added that he is looking forward to having a formal role as the new chapter within his collaboration with Sportradar begins. Earlier this month, Jordan joined the company’s directors, executives and lead investors during the NASDAQ ceremony which celebrated the Sportradar’s first day as a publicly-traded company.

Carsten Koerl, global CEO at Sportradar, revealed that Jordan saw the potential of the company as one of the early investors.
