The First Nation band government in Alberta, Canada, the Tsuut’ina Nation, announced a senior-level change for the Grey Eagle Resort and Casino. The Nation said Thursday it selected Tyrone Waite as the venue’s new chief executive officer (CEO).

In his new position as CEO, Waite will play a pivotal role in the venue’s growth and further development. The Tsuut’ina Nation revealed that his appointment is effective as of December 1, 2022. By taking over the lead, Waite will spearhead the Resort’s strategy and seek to further establish the venue as the go-to gaming and leisure location for Alberta.
Brent Dodginghorse, Grey Eagle Gaming and Hospitality’s board chair, revealed that the company is confident that Waite will make a fine addition to the senior-level team. Moreover, he acknowledged that Waite will help navigate the venue amid the ongoing changes in the competitive gambling industry.
“Over the coming months, we are excited to transition the Resort Operations to Mr. Waite and execute our long-term growth strategy while continuing to make the Grey Eagle Resort & Casino a premier stay and play destination in Alberta.“

Dodginghorse added that the transition of responsibilities to Waite brings excitement. At the same time, he pointed out that the leadership change complements the venue’s growth strategy and seeks to further solidify its position as a leading gambling and hospitality destination in Alberta. According to Dodginghorse, with the ongoing development of the Taza Park Real Estate, visitors will have new shopping, dining and entertainment options. “We are proud to welcome visitors to our Resort on the beautiful Tsuut’ina Nation and share a piece of our culture with every visit,” said the venue’s Board chair in conclusion.
Waite Will Boost the Growth of the Resort
Grey Eagle Resort and Casino opened back in 2007. The venue is located only a few minutes away from Calgary downtown on the Doorstep of the Canadian Rockies. The venue offers more than 1,000 slot machines, six poker tables, as well as 40 table games. Overall, the casino has an 84,000 square feet gaming floor.
