Genius Sports has appointed Kimberly Williams-Bradley to its Board of Directors as the company seeks to reinforce its management team and make stronger executive decisions.
Williams-Bradley is stepping in as an independent director and the ninth member of the Board, with the data and sports content company citing her experience in managing finance as the reason why she will now be a part of the Audit and Compensation Committee. Her professional path has taken her through many companies that represent both professional sports and media, including the Women’s Tennis Association, the NFL, the English Football League and others. The new board member was also previously a CFO and executive vice president at Warner Bros. Entertainment Group, where she was in charge of managing finances.
Williams-Bradley welcomed the opportunity, commenting that she was happy to be joining the Genius Sports family:
“I am thrilled to be joining Genius’ Board at such a pivotal moment for the industry, as the sports, betting, and media sectors increasingly converge.” She is confident that Genius Sports is an example of how big leagues can leverage their data and explore new revenue streams.
Creating Value for Sportsbooks in the United States
Following the legalization of sports gambling in the US, many sports leagues realized that, in the absence of a compulsory fee they had requested, data was their greatest asset when it came to tapping fresh revenue streams.
In Williams-Bradley’s opinion, it’s thanks to the efforts of companies such as Genius Sports that sportsbooks and customers can enjoy better security as well as value. Genius Sports Board Chairman David Levy said that he was delighted to welcome Williams-Bradley as part of the team.
Genius Sports has been in the news a lot this past month. The company has signed a new partnership with MEDIAPRO Canada for more Canadian Soccer coverage and expanded an existing partnership with DIMAYOR, the governing body of Colombian soccer. In addition, the company acquired permanent wagering license from the West Virginia Lottery Commission.
