Fortuna Entertainment Group (FEG), the leading Central European betting operator, announced on Tuesday that it selected a new interim CEO.
Per Widerström to Step Down from Leading FEG
The position of interim CEO will be taken by the current general manager and member of the FEG Group executive team, David Vaněk. He will be replacing Per Widerström, who decided to step down and seek new career opportunities after leading the company for 7 years.
During Widerström’s tenure, FEG has grown more than five times in size. Moreover, the company acknowledged that it has become a “leading licensed omnichannel betting and gaming operator in the CEE region.” The recent executive changes will be in effect as of March 1, 2022.

As a seasoned veteran, Vaněk has a track record of achieving profit growth and delivering projects. Moreover, he is a proven strategic and operational leader that has worked in 5 countries, leading multi-cultural and multi-national teams on group and local levels.
Vaněk has been a part of Fortuna for more than 6 years now. Before joining FEG, he was a part of International Personal Finance Plc where he held key positions. Before that, Vaněk was a part of Provident Financial s.r.o. (IPF), a leading provider of financial products and services. During his tenure at Provident Financial, he has held multiple executive roles.
Widerström: FEG Is in Good Hands
On the topic, Widerström added that seven years is a long time and he thanked FEG’s team, customers, stakeholders and other business partners. He outlined that the company’s fantastic employees have been the driving force that made FEG great.
