FanDuel’s CEO, Matt King announced that he will be resigning from his position. The announcement comes while FanDuel’s owner, Flutter Entertainment, is assessing the possibility of listing a “small stake” of the company in the US.
Matt King to Leave FanDuel
Flutter Entertainment announced today that Matt King, FanDuel’s CEO, will be resigning from his position. For nearly four years with FanDuel, King has pushed the company’s transformation from an online daily fantasy operator to a true market leader in the US online sports betting and gaming space.
The announcement comes at a time when Flutter has revealed that it is assessing a potential listing of “small stake” of FanDuel in the US. While FanDuel has initiated the process to appoint its new CEO, King agreed to remain with the company for that time. With that in mind, Flutter did acknowledge that King’s departure may “affect the timing of any potential US listing“.
Leading FanDuel Was a Privilege, Says King
Commenting on the subject, King said that leading FanDuel for the last 4 years has been a privilege. Furthermore, he acknowledged that this was an incredibly exciting period for the company. King stressed that FanDuel is currently positioned well for its next chapter of growth. Furthermore, he added that now is the time for him to “take on new opportunities“.
