Evolution to Host Online Casino Games with Live Dealer in Michigan
Gambling technology supplier Evolution has been greenlit to host online casino games with a live dealer. The authorization came directly from the Michigan Gaming Control Board and is the first time ever such a hybrid approach between live and online gambling has been adopted by the state.
Introducing a New Format to the State
Evolution’s new format was thoughtfully examined by the Michigan Gaming Control Board to see if it fits all the requirements. Evolution had its site checked and was also evaluated to see if it meets the state’s internet gaming framework. It passed all tests.
The novel live dealer online casino games will be live-streamed on the web by several licensed operators. The games will have dealers who work on screen in real-time. This new format of games launched on Thursday.
According to the executive director of the Michigan Gaming Control Board, Henry Williams, the new format will offer a wide variety of games bettors can participate in through their personal computers or mobile devices. The games will include some of the classic casino options such as roulette, blackjack, and baccarat. The dealer will always be on camera and will be broadcasted in real-time to all participating players.
Although this live dealer online gambling will only allow for three games at first, it is not outside the realm of possibility to include more games, depending on the format’s success.
The format quickly sparked interest among leading market brands such as BetMGM, FanDuel, and DraftKings, who are also planning to adopt a similar approach in the future.
Boasting Impressive Success
Evolution has been experiencing fast growth recently. By the second quarter of 2021, it got its revenues to $320 million – a 100% increase compared to the same time period of 2020.
The gambling technology supplier company’s chief executive officer, Martin Carlesund, revealed that a strong demand helped achieve those numbers. However, the company doesn’t seek a momentary boost but a long-term success.
Much of Evolution’s unparalleled growth was thanks to the Live Casino vertical – it received a 59% growth, compared to the second quarter of the previous year. Worldwide demand increased, and the company capitalized on its efforts.
During that very same quarter, Evolution completed the acquisition deal it had struck with Big Time Gaming which further boosted the tech supplier’s renown and improved its standing on the market.
The company is operating globally and covers a lot of places outside of Michigan where it will be hosting live dealer games. For example, the company recently agreed to provide live casino games to Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis, and the Canadian Bank Note Company in Canada. Earlier this year, Evolution signed a deal with Entain that will see it offer online games on the Gala, Ladbrokes, and Coral platforms.
