Esports Entertainment Group is continuing its expansion outside of the realm of esports by signing a deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers football team from the National Football League.
Esports Entertainment Becomes Buccaneers’ Esports Tournament Platform
As per the agreement, Esports Entertainment will become the Buccaneers’ official esports tournament platform provider. Furthermore, Esports Entertainment will operate co-branded annual tournaments on its own Esports Gaming League platform.
Additionally, Esports Entertainment will popularize Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ players and will promote their brand and matches through various digital means, such as social media and emails.
Esports Entertainment Group’s chief executive, Grant Johnson, commented on the partnership. He revealed that he is thrilled to expand Esports Entertainment’s reach with the Buccaneers’ help. Johnson is delighted to see his tournament platform establishing itself as a leader in the industry and gaining further support from traditional sports teams.
“Our robust tournament platform will help the Buccaneers and their marquee players such as Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski strengthen connections with their fans while providing new avenues for engagement,” Johnson said.
The Buccaneers Join Esports Entertainment’s Growing Family
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are also happy to join Esports Entertainment Group as partners. Their chief operating officer, Brian Ford, revealed that the franchise is always looking to boost its fan engagement. He believes that esports provides an invaluable opportunity for the team to reach new audiences and grow the pre-existing ones.
“The Esports Entertainment Group’s Buccaneers Gaming Tournaments will be very popular with our fans of all ages and a fun way to compete in an entertaining and social environment with gamers throughout our fan base,” Ford believes.
“The Buccaneers join a growing number of leading teams in the NFL, NHL, NBA, that recognize the quality of our robust platform and its ability to meet the demanding needs of large-scale, high-profile deployments,” Esports Entertainment Group’s president of esports, Magnus Leppäniemi noted.
Indeed, by inking a partnership deal with Esports Entertainment Group, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers joined the esports company’s growing family of professional sports partners. Just a few days ago, Esports Entertainment signed much similar deal with the Indianapolis Colts, which also officialized the company as the team’s esports tournament platform provider.
Additionally, Esports Entertainment Group currently has dealt with other NFL franchises, namely the Baltimore Ravens and the Los Angeles Chargers.
Esports Entertainment Group has had a powerful year in terms of partnerships. Other than signing the aforementioned deals with the sports franchises, the company also took monumental step in its development by acquiring the iGaming operator Bethard earlier this year.
