Encore Boston Harbor in Everett Is Not for Sale

Citing an unnamed source, Everett Leader Herald reported last week Friday that Encore Boston Harbor in Everett, Massachusetts may be up for sale for some $800 million. However, Brian Gullbrants, president of the Everett casino disputed the statement.

In a message obtained by Mass Live, Gullbrants revealed that it “has been falsely reported that Encore Boston Harbor is for sale”. He added that the company has not engaged in any conversations regarding the sale of the property.

Furthermore, Gullbrants revealed that the company is “very excited and committed” to the future of Encore Boston Harbor. He added that the resort is patiently waiting for the time when it can fully re-open and have all of its team members back on a daily basis. “The team is hard at work planning for the future of Encore, post-COVID, and we can’t wait to share all of these exciting new ideas with you,” concluded the president of the casino.

The construction of Encore Boston Harbor in Everett started in 2015 and concluded in 2019. Wynn Resorts paid some $2.6 billion to build the casino resort. With that in mind, according to a recent study by the UMass Donahue Institute, the resort has generated $1.6 billion in total value for Massachusetts

Besides contributing with the staggering $1.6 billion in economic windfall, the construction process of the casino from 2015 to 2019 involved some 6,700 people. According to the report by the UMass Donahue Institute, an average worker has spent 760 hours working on the project, making an average of $36,50 or a total of $47.89 per hour which is, in fact, higher than the average of $35.83 per hour.
