On Friday, December 30, 2022, Wynn Macau, Limited announced in its filing to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that Ellen F. Whittemore has been named a non-executive director of the gaming operator with effect from January 1, 2023.
Matthew O. Maddox stepped down on December 31, 2022, from his position as a non-executive director of Wynn Macau. Previously, Maddox served as a chief executive officer at the company between February 7, 2018, and January 31, 2022. Maddox agreed to stay as a member of the Board of Directors through December 31, 2022, before he took his final leave from the company.
Ellen F. Whittemore, aged 66, has been the executive vice president, general counsel, and secretary of Wynn Resorts, Limited since July 2018. Wynn Macau stated that Maddox “had no disagreement” with the company’s board and there were no issues concerning his resignation that should be reported to the operator’s shareholders.
Wynn Macau’s Board of Executive Directors
The gaming company’s current board of executive directors consists of the following members: Craig S. Billings as chief executive officer, Linda Chen as vice chairman of the board, Ian Michael Coughlan as president, and Frederic Luvisutto as chief operating officer.
According to a previous announcement from July 2022, Linda Chen would be named the president of Wynn Macau Limited in addition to her current position as vice chairman. She would replace Ian Michael Coughlan whose tenure is supposed to end on February 28, 2023. As for Coughlan, he will remain an advisor to the company until December 2023 and a non-executive director until May 2024.
In August 2022, Frederic Luvisutto, 50, was appointed as an executive director at Wynn Macau Limited in addition to his role as a chief operating officer of both Wynn Macau Limited and its wholly-owned subsidiary Wynn Resorts (Macau) S.A. Luvisutto has been COO of Wynn Palace since 2014.
Ellen F. Whittemore’s Career
Before joining Wynn Resorts, Limited, Whittemore was a shareholder of Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck LLP between November 2016 and July 2018. From February 2014 to November 2016, she was the sole manager of the Whittemore Gaming Group, LLC. Prior to that, between October 2002 and February 2014, Whittemore served as counsel in the Las Vegas-based law firm Lionel Sawyer & Collins.
Whittemore obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nevada, Reno, and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Diego School of Law. She is admitted to the US Supreme Court to practice.
