DraftKings Announces Sponsorship of the Gaming Innovation Studio at UNLV
Daily fantasy sports and sportsbook operator DraftKings has announced a multi-year partnership agreement to become a primary sponsor of the Center for Gaming Innovation. The center is within the International Gaming Institute (IGI) at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). Under the multi-year agreement, DraftKings will open its new DraftKings Gaming Innovation Studio at UNLV. Moreover, by inking the agreement, the operator will gain access to local talent while at the same time it will strengthen the ties with the Las Vegas community.
Back in January this year, DraftKings announced the opening of a 300-person office in Las Vegas. With this move, the operator gained access to some of the brightest gaming industry talents. Considering the new agreement with UNLV, DraftKings will “create a pipeline to local talent and to innovations created at UNLV”.
Furthermore, the university already has a proven record for success in commercializing gaming products – from interesting new games to technologies involving responsible gambling. DraftKings Gaming Innovation Studio signage will be visible for visitors to UNLV. Furthermore, the Stan Fulton Building will also feature visible DraftKings branding.
DraftKings – Well-Known for Embracing Innovation in Gaming
According to Daniel Sahl, Director of IGI’s Center for Gaming Innovation, the creation of DraftKings Gaming Innovation Studio at the university will significantly expand the scope and output of the UNLV innovation program. As a result, more students will have the opportunity to collaborate in a professional setting.
Furthermore, there will be a possibility for the innovative ideas by the students to turn into real products. Sahl stressed that the IGI Center for Gaming Innovation is delighted to collaborate with a partner such as DraftKings who is “well-known for embracing innovation in gaming“.
“This collaboration will help ensure that Nevada remains the global leader in gaming development and manufacturing – both now and in the future.”
