DGE: Casinos, Racetracks Report $401.5M in Gaming Win for June
Judging by details released by the gambling regulator in New Jersey, the state’s nine casino hotel properties enjoyed good results last month.
Gambling Regulator in New Jersey Unveils Results for June
The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE), released the financial results for June, showing that the total revenue for casinos, racetracks and their partners hit $401.5 million. When compared to the $392.8 million reported for the same month last year, an increase of 2.2% was observed.
What’s more, year-to-date total gaming revenue for the gambling venues until the end of June this year hit $2.43 billion. Last year, for the same period, year-to-date total gaming revenue halted at $2.11 billion. In other words, this year, the total gaming revenue on a year-to-date basis increased by more than 15%.
Casino, Internet Win Soars, Sports Betting Dips
According to a breakdown provided by the DGE, the total casino win for the nine hotel casino properties last month was $229.1 million, up 6.8% when compared to the $214.5 million in casino win from June 2021. Similarly, strong growth was observed on a year-to-date basis. Year-to-date casino win for the state’s casinos hit $1.31 billion, up 18% when compared to the $1.11 billion from the same period last year.
Last month, internet gaming win reported by casinos and their partners hit $133.1 million, up 24.4% when compared to the $107.1 million in June last year. When it comes to year-to-date results for internet gaming win, an even higher increase was observed. This year, year-to-date gaming win for internet operations hit $814.5 million, up 28.4% when compared to the same period in 2021.
In contrast to the good results, sports wagering operations marked a decrease. This June, casinos, racetracks and their partners reported $39.2 million in sports wagering gross revenue, down 44.9% when compared to the $71.3 million reported during the same period last year.
Operators Enjoy Increase in Revenue
Bally’s was the venue that has seen the biggest increase in revenue last month. Overall, in June, Bally’s total gaming revenue hit $17.7 million, up 52.2% when compared to the $11.6 million in gaming revenue reported for June 2021.
Last month brought success for Hard Rock as well. The property’s total gaming win in June was $52.1 million, up 25.2% when compared to the $41.6 million in gaming win from the same month last year.
June was a successful month for Ocean Casino as well. The venue’s total gaming revenue last month was $32.2 million. This result marked a 20.6% increase when compared to the $26.7 million in total gaming win reported for June last year.
