Club One Casino Plans to Change Location, Start Recovery
Club One Casino in Fresno, California has been operating for 25 years. However, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the cardroom was forced to close for more than 16 months, and now plans to begin its economic rebound by relocating to Granite Park.
Club One Casino Plans to Relocate
Back in March 2020, Fresno’s Club One Casino was forced to shut due to the growing COVID-19 pandemic. After keeping its doors closed for a few weeks, the venue was allowed to reopen. However, due to the pandemic, the reopening didn’t last for long and Club One Casino was forced to close again, this time for 16 months.
Undoubtedly, the pandemic shutdowns have brought difficulties for the venue, which has been previously operating in Downtown Fresno, California for 25 years. However, Club One Casino owner Kyle Kirkland did not stand by but was rather planning on how to restart its business once the pandemic resides.
Last November, Kirkland realized that one of the options for restarting the business is by changing its location. Planning to open the cardroom as soon as possible and bring the employees back to work, he thought that relocating the venue to Granite Park is a good option for restarting the business, the Business Journal revealed earlier this month.
New Location to Bring Benefits
At the new location, the cardroom will offer a 25 card tables, as well as a dining area and bar. Although at the start, Kirkland will use approximately 13,000 square feet from the space, he plans to expand to the entire building, which is 33,000 square feet. If that happens, he plans to add more tables, increasing the total number to 51.
The renovation of the space, which was formerly used by Club Imperio, has already started. However, Kirkland needs to meet with the City Council to receive approval and finalize the arrangement for the new location. A meeting between the City Council and Club One Casino’s owner is set for today.
In a recent interview for The Sun, Kirkland said that the COVID-related closure has given the company an opportunity for a “hard reset.” Furthermore, he stressed that Club One Casino has always been a responsible operator. Referring to the downtown property, Kirkland explained that the card room has been “a good, responsible neighbor” that always follows the rules. Besides a fresh start for Club One Casino, the new location will undoubtedly bring more revenue for the company, considering the planned future expansion. In addition, with revenue increasing, the city will receive more proceeds in terms of tax revenue.
