Cassie Stratford Appointed New President of Global Gaming Women
Cassie Stratford has been appointed as the new president of Global Gaming Women (GGW), a non-profit organization that empowers women and their development in every area of the global gambling industry. At the moment, Stratford works as Boyd Gaming’s Vice President of Legal Affairs and Assistant General Counsel and began working as President of GGW in July. She will be supported by new board executives, as well.
Stratford Had a Lot of Praise for GGW
After Stratford was appointed as the new President of GGW, she stated that she is extremely honored to have the chance to work with all leaders at GGW and continue to advance its important mission. Stratford replaced the Vice President of Global Marketing at Gaming Laboratories International, Christie Eickleman, and has worked in the gambling industry for almost three decades.
Eickleman stated that, with the massive dedication that the board members are showing, together with the support from the sponsors, GGW has become stronger than ever before. The board includes IGT’s senior vice president of people and transformation, Dorothy Costa, the director of corporate affairs at Entain Group, Grainne Hurst, the senior vice president and general manager of the recently renovated Caesar Entertainment, Jacqueline Grace, Scientific Games’ chief commercial officer, Siobhan Lane and Penn Gaming’s vice president of business intelligence and IT program management, Kate White.
She also added that many women from all around the world have benefited a lot from GGW, but there is still a lot of work that has to be done. That is why Eickleman is excited to pass the baton to Stratford, allow her to build on the achievements and take all women in the gambling industry to a whole new level.
The Global Gambling Market is Rising
Even though the world faced one of the toughest challenges yet with the pandemic, that did not slow the gambling market down. In 2020, the total revenue of this industry was $465.76 billion. While the pandemic forced land-based casinos to close shop, that did not stop players from finding alternatives.
The land-based casino industry may have recorded a drop in revenue, but that provided the iGaming industry with the perfect opportunity to rise. Online casinos have spiked in popularity and that is why all experts state that the gambling industry shifted to the online world.
That’s the reason why statistics show that the global revenue in 2021 will actually be bigger than that of 2020, as it is likely to reach $516.03 billion at a CAGR (compound annual growth rate) of 10.8%. In 2025, the market is expected to have a CAGR of 7% and reach $674.7 billion.
