The online casino segment continues to make huge strides around the world. Propelled further into the limelight as COVID-19 forced brick-and-mortar casinos to remain closed, iGaming has gained a larger market share and doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. The next couple of years are going to bring a number of innovative solutions to the segment and operators are pushing to stay on the front lines. CasinoEngine, an iGaming integration platform powered by EveryMatrix, has already received a lot of attention for its library, but is now adding new content that will give it even greater flexibility. Already offering over 11,500 games from more than 175 providers, EveryMatrix announced that CasinoEngine is integrating content from Hölle Games, a young gaming studio in Germany.
Hölle Games Joins CasinoEngine
According to EveryMatrix, CasinoEngine is on a mission to offer an endless supply of content to its global network. Adding Hölle Games to the mix will support that mission, giving operators targeting the German market access to titles that have been specifically developed for gamers in the country. Hölle Games offers “cutting-edge” games built around “distinctive local features” that it believes appeal greatly to the target segment. The company also “developed a unique formula” to incorporate into bonus games that offer more options and a greater return to player.
Hölle Games CEO and co-founder Robert Lenzhofer asserts, “I am very happy and proud to be able to partner up with EveryMatrix. We will focus the partnership initially on the German market and we’ll expand into further key markets where our games have a natural appeal, later in the year. I have been in the industry for around 20 years and it’s incredible to see how EveryMatrix has evolved and grown over the past decade especially.”
Timing of Integration May be an Issue
Even as the global iGaming industry continues to expand and evolve to changing conditions, there are some issues that still need to be addressed. Many regulators, lawmakers and other officials have shown that they still aren’t able to grasp the concept of iGaming and the benefits it provides, which is hindering the development of a robust and mature legal gaming market. This has been evident in the US, where some states have refused to adopt online gaming as they introduced sports gambling and casino expansion, and it is especially true in Germany.
Hölle Games has built its solutions to be compliant with Germany’s tax regulations, but that isn’t as cut and dry as it seems on the surface. The country’s new State Treaty on Gambling was just approved by Parliament and, after a considerable amount of debate, approved 5.3% tax for online slots and poker. This hasn’t sat well with some operators and analysts, many of whom have asserted that it will drive more players to offshore or illegal gambling sites. In addition, a measure to cap each online slot spin at €1 ($1.19) was approved. Both of these measures completely derail the purpose of legalizing an iGaming market.
