Casino Austria, a gaming corporation operating casinos globally, announced its executive search is over after the appointment of Holland Casino CEO Erwin van Lambaart as its new General Director.
Executive Search is Over
New Casino Austria addition van Lambaart will join the company’s Board of Directors on March 14 next year, and on April 1, will take over the General Director role from Bettina Glatz-Kremsner, who decided against a renewal of her contract due to personal reasons, a decision she announced in March.
The announcement that Glatz-Kremsner would be stepping down triggered an executive search process for the casino operator, utilizing the services of consultancy firm Spencer Stuart in accordance with international standards.
van Lambaart is joining the company from Holland Casino, where he has been serving as CEO since 2016, responsible for the operations across 14 land-based casinos in the Netherlands, as well as online gaming.
Robert Chvatal, CEO of Austria Casino’s main shareholder, Sazka Group, outlined the new appointment established a new style and approach of the shareholders to the process of appointing new Board members.

Sazka Group further consolidated its stake in Casino Austria in the first half of 2021, adding 4.31% to reach a holding of 59.8% at the Austrian casino company and the casino company was among the main drivers for the growth the Prague-based group reported in September.
‘Lasting Contribution to the Welfare of the Group’
Prior to his position at Holland Casino, van Lambaart served in hotel and casino management roles, including as CEO of Nieche Media. During the transparent and competitive recruitment process, Casino Austria Supervisory Board nominated several candidates for the executive position, with three of them ultimately reaching the interview stage, but van Lambaart was unanimously selected as the outstanding candidate for the role.
