Canadian Gaming Association Adds Two New Members

The Canadian Gaming Association (CGA) has appointed two new members as the country heads into 2022 in the hopes of rapidly expanding its gambling industry. The trade association for the Canadian gaming suppliers and operators has tapped the talents of Ilkim Hincer and George Sweny.

Bringing Industry Helping Hand Onboard

Hincer, who is Hard Rock International EVP and chief legal officer, will be stepping in as the organization’s chair and Sweny, who is VP of compliance at Flutter Entertainment, will now be vice-chair of the trade association’s board of directors.

Commenting on these two new hires, CGA president and CEO Paul Burns praised their long-standing expertise in the industry and what they had to bring to the table. Burns argued that Hincer has been a known party to him and that he had followed his “notable career in the industry.”

“Ilkim has a strong track record with some of the world’s largest gaming operators, both here in Canada and in the US. I look forward to working alongside him as we bounce back from the pandemic and position the CGA to capitalize on all of the exciting technology, iGaming and sports betting developments across Canada.”

Hincer welcomed the appointment as well and said that he would be looking to help the industry weather the pandemic and all of its challenges. He did not miss to thank the outgoing chair, Carrie Kormos, who worked towards the betterment of the CGA and the gambling industry in Canada during her stint.
