Betway, the sports betting and online gaming brand of Super Group, announced this week a sponsorship deal with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) that recognized the brand as the Development Partner of the Ghana Women’s Premier League.
Support Women’s Premier League
The new arrangement with the GFA will see Betway’s Ghanaian subsidiary Betway Ghana help the soccer league’s further expansion by providing support for teams, including a season-long mentorship program. The key benefit offers club officials local and international resources under the guidance of Betway.
Commenting on the announcement, Betway Ghana’s country manager at marketing Kwabena Oppong-Nkrumah outlined the need for a “communal approach” to help the league utilize its potential.
“As a brand that believes in sports development, we believe supporting the women’s league in Ghana with unique innovations – such as sponsoring the league as development partners – will go a long way to help unbox talents in Women’s football and bring communal benefits to the nation as a whole.”

Amplify League’s Coverage
As the development partner of the soccer league, Betway will provide training equipment for clubs participating in the league and ensure action from the competition receive amplified media coverage to draw attention to the Women’s Premier League. To achieve that, Betway will be collaborating with the Sports Writer’s Association (SWAG).
On behalf of the GFA, Prosper Harrison Addo, General Secretary of the association, stressed the next “level of progress” the women’s league had achieved over the last two years, excited to team with a global brand the caliber of Betway as “frontiers of the Women’s game in Ghana” continue to expand.
“With the re-organisation of the Women’s Premier League and the support from Betway and a new incoming Television partner, we are guaranteed even more competitive matches, more talent identification and development, more excitement, and indeed, a great champion to represent Ghana at the CAF Women’s Champions League.”

The new sponsorship deal with the GFA is the latest international sports partnership the Super Group-owned brand has agreed to as its brand awareness continues to increase worldwide. It followed less than a month after Betway had broken ground in French soccer with an agreement with Ligue 2 side Toulouse FC.
The GFA agreement also expands Betway’s significant footprint in international soccer where the brand features across all top European leagues.
