Betsson AB taps Roland Glasfors to Lead Sustainability Efforts

Betsson AB has appointed Roland Glasfors as the company’s new VP of communications, investor relations, and sustainability.

In his new position, Glasfors will seek to help with overall group management and work directly under Betsson CEO Pontus Lindwall after stepping in the job on May 2. Lindwall hurried and welcomed the new appointment:

Betsson AB is prepared to benefit from Glasfors’ distinct qualities, Lindwall said and argued that the new executive’s expertise will be welcomed as it would play to Betsson’s advantage.

The group hopes to further sharpen its sustainability work and expects Glasfors to play a crucial part in that. As to the man himself, he has worked for several high-profile companies in the sector.

He was head of IR and strategy gaming development at now Evolution Gaming’s NetEnt and he also served a stint at Trustly as head of investor relations. Glasfors welcomed this opportunity as well and said that he was excited to be joining Betsson.

He further commended the company’s expertise in the digitalization of the gaming industry in Northern Europe.

“Betsson’s recent investments and acquisitions make this an exciting time for the company with growth opportunities in several new markets around the world.”

Glasfors also praised Betsson’s efforts to establish itself as a company that upholds sustainability criteria and that has made a conscious effort to integrate such solutions as part of its broader strategy. Betsson managed to post strong Q4 results even though it faced some challenges.

The company has also been operating on all levels of business by recently signing up Swedish soccer legend Pontus Wernbloom as a brand ambassador and further extending its ongoing partnership with GiG.
