AI specialist Axes Wednesday has announced a donation for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, dedicated to the institution’s artificial intelligence research into responsible gambling. The contribution was well-received with UNLV International Gaming Institute director of research Brett Abarbanel issuing a statement to thank Axe’s contribution and support.
UNLV Gets Axes Wednesday’s Support for Responsible Gambling Research
He added that the donation will help advance the overall understanding of problem gambling and how artificial intelligence may be applied to tackle the issue. Abarbanel said:
Axe’s commitment to mitigating gambling harms aligns with our own goals of employing the most advanced methodologies to understand, predict and prevent the potential harm associated with gambling.
The head of research said that Axes has shown dedication in support responsible gambling initiatives. This is not surprising, given Axes’ own field of operation which has to do with artificial intelligence and its applications across the gaming and amusement industries. Creating powerful AI solutions that can help tackle one of the industry’s main problems is a Lost Ankh for many of the industry’s biggest names, including LeoVegas Group, Flutter Entertainment, and Svenska Spel.
Axes was similarly pleased with the opportunity and said that it was the company’s desire to make the land-based industry safer, more profitable – and more fun. Company president and CEO Earle G. Hall added that the eradication of money laundering and addictive gambling is part of the company’s core mission and something that it aspired to do every day.
According to Hall, UNLV’s research in quantitative prediction is precisely the key that is needed to put a stop to what he described as “finite evil” that, when cracked, can lead to infinite possibilities for the industry.
