Prestigious online payments provider with millions of users worldwide AstroPay has appointed UK-based Fayyaz Ansari as its new chief financial officer. Paysafe group’s former chief financial officer and board member for the Skrill division will be responsible for supervising AstroPay’s financial activities and management decisions at a global level.
Over Two Decades of Experience in the Industry
As previously mentioned, Ansari spent around seven years next to Paysafe Group’s team, from September 2015 until March 2022. There, he became the strategic partner to the business unit’s chief executive officer and worked to stimulate growth while making critical operational decisions. He also drove value by acting as a business partner to the executive team, while showing his support for an initial public offering through an NYSE listing. As a leader of the finance function, Ansari was responsible for reporting, creating financial plans and assessments, and controlling the financial systems and treasury.
Before joining the group as a CFO, he was also Skrill’s group financial controller for another seven years between Sep 2008 – Aug 2015. During his time there, raised debt to help fund Skrill’s acquisition strategy while also completing two sales and two acquisitions.
Ansari was also an audit executive at PricewaterhouseCoopers between December 2004 and August 2008. There, he managed a rich portfolio of clients belonging to the food, consumer, and electronics industry. He also spent his time working as an audit supervisor at Simmons Gainsford Group between April 2001 and October 2004.
Fayyaz has an impressively rich leadership experience that also includes topics like includes treasury, controllership, tax restructuring, performance management, corporate finance, and strategic planning. Accordingly, the chartered accountant and MBA holder from Warwick Business School in the UK will “undoubtedly make an immediate impact” on the team, as expressed by AstroPay’s chief executive Mikael Lijtenstein. In its struggle to become the global leader in payment solutions, AstroPay is convinced Ansari will b an “excellent addition” to the team, helping their mission of offering financial freedom to millions of people with his “wealth of experience” which will prove to be “essential in implementing our strategic plans” to speed up the growth of the company.
Ansari to Join AstroPay After Wolves Partnership
Last month, AstroPay turned into the main partner of Wolverhampton Wanderers, an important soccer club part of the prestigious English Premier League. Speaking about his new appointment, Ansari expressed his excitement to be working with a team that is “passionate about the business, has a clear strategy, and always puts customers’ needs first”.
He also mentioned AstroPay’s commitment to its international extension plans and solid business model, while praising its “focus on diversity and proud history”.In March, AstroPay announced it had expanded its footprint in the LatAm region by launching its Payment Links solution in Mexico, Columbia, Peru, and Chile. At the end of the same month, the payment processor decided to sponsor the Pinnacle Cup III.
