Asia Pioneer Entertainment Holdings (APE Holdings), a supplier of gaming equipment based in Macau, announced its entry into the metaverse with the launch of the group’s first non-fungible token (NFT).
Determined as a Tiger
Asia Tigers Club, an NFT collection of 8,800 Picture For Profile (PFPs) unique and fashioned images of tigers based on the Ethereum blockchain will pre-launch by the end of May while the full series will be sold via direct minting only at the company’s official website.
“We are really proud to be one of Macau’s first major NFT projects that is building a community of digital art collectors and links them back to travel and leisure in Macau,” said APE Holdings chief financial officer and executive director Tony Chansaid, hoping to remind travelers that Macau is back on the map of holiday destinations, after months of travel restrictions.
“Asia Tigers Club will allow collectors to first experience a digital Macau via our metaverse offerings and when the travel restrictions are relaxing, be the first to come to Macau and gain real-life benefits via our Travel Token marketplace.”
Tony Chansaid, CFO and Executive Director, APE Holdings
Asia Tigers Club, a combination of traditional Chinese ink drawings with modern generative art techniques developed by Portuguese artist Pedro Lourenço, embodies the spirit, strength and adaptability of the tiger, a theme highly representative of the continent, to symbolize its determination to attract international tourists back to destinations in the region.
“As the worldwide environment changed and has stopped many travelers from coming to Asia, our vision is to build Asian travel destinations on the metaverse, so our first foray is to build Mini Macau in the Sandbox Game Maker as a prototype for our upcoming Resortverse project.”
Tony Chansaid, CFO and Executive Director, APE Holdings
Mini Macau and Resortverse
Mini Macau, APE Holdings’ first project in the metaverse built on The Sandbox Game comprises digital replicas of tourist attractions in Macau like The Ruins of St.Paul’s, Macau Tower, Senado Square and Ah Ma temple and is expected to launch around June, offering players opportunities to win Travel Tokens and then use them for real-life experiences.
Asia Tigers Club’s NFTs will allow their holders priority access to the Mini Macau metaverse offerings in The Sandbox and APE’s future Resortverse metaverse as collectors will receive Resortverse Tokens redeemable for real-life travel and hospitality experiences in Macau and the region.
